Testimonials
“Since your last visit we had an Environmental Lunchtime Club organised by a student from Leeds University for both K1 and K2 school council members plus students from Y5. Their activities included team quizzes, poster making, song writing (spreading awareness of energy saving habits) and performing. They completed the Energy Heroes quiz sheet, and matching pairs game in the final few sessions to test the children`s knowledge.
We have also done Carbon Footprint lessons for K1 classes and are planning to do them in K2 classes after the half term concentrating on reducing the school`s carbon footprint. Following these sessions, we’ll create a display showcasing how to become an Energy Hero, using the materials made by the children. It will also highlight the pledges we’ve made to reduce our carbon footprint at school.”

Case Studies
“The project was an incredibly positive process for the school. It connected the passion of the children to ‘save the planet’ with the practical steps that they can do to save the energy and resources that the school uses on a daily basis.“ Andrew Symonds, Head teacher.
Since the launch of the Energy Heroes programme, Head teacher Andrew Symonds has been working on a plan to install solar panels on the school roof. Energy Heroes supported the Eco-team to develop their advocacy skills and add pupil voice to the campaign. The proposal, pictured here, will ensure that the school can lower their carbon footprint and impact on climate change whilst increasing their energy resilience.
